A couple of finished gifts

Baby hat and mitts set for my friends new baby, and a facecloth and soap set for her, facecloth made with my fav lily sugar and cream cotton, and the soap which i think goes very well is a happy soap from LUSH

PAHHHHH to stash busting!!!

Its impossible to not buy any wool for months isnt it!! I have made a concious effort to use lots of what i already have recently in the form of mitts and hats and a couple of sweaters and tank tops, but the temptation to buy more is too great to resist, i have just invested in some beautiful almerino yarn from Roosteryarns, and have just had a gorgeous delivery of pure alpaca in a beautiful rose pink shade come over from the states.
BUT..... i have sorted out some of my stash and its for sale on ebay so im being good really lol
If only i could feel better and get rid of this cold id be knitting night and day!!

Colinette skye winter warmers

Heres a cute pic of my 5yo modelling the colinette skye castagna hat and keyhole scarf set i have made him! This weekend have also finished a pair of koolaid dyed bfl mitts for dd2 and a black courtelle acrylic(yuk) hat for dd1, she wanted it black and the only black i had was cheap acrylic that has been lying around for years!!
Also finished a tiny baby hat in beautiful pale blue with silver speckle 4ply yarn, and am working on matching mitts and booties to complete the set to send off to my friends new little bub!! My mind is on constant over drive wondering what to knit next, i like to have a project in mind before i finsh the one im working on, so i have the rest of today to decide what im going to be making after the baby bits!

winter woolies

Heres a pair of gloves i made for sophie(dd4), made them with some bfl hand dyed in koolaid by moi, and the other set is for me, made from manos del uruguay, in a beautiful pewter colour.
Off to start a black hat for dd1 and then have to make more mitts for dd2 and dd1 boyfriend - then its baby clothes for a bit as one of my dear friends back in Weymouth has just had her second little one, a boy called Keilan, her other daughter is 9 and she has been trying for a while, although she wasnt meant to have any more as she has a problem with the first labour and had a clot on the brain, so this little man is rather special, great to have him here and my friend still be fine x

Ok have been tagged!!

Have been tagged by the lovely Gemma, the stash junkie, so here we go five things about me!

1) i met my husband in a night club at the end of the night, only started talking to him to get one last drink before i left, and found out that he used to live near me when we were little and he bought me earings when he was nine and i gave them back to go out with his best friend, haha!!

2) For the last 18 years i have been obsessed with having babies, totally love them, and the kiddies that they turn into obviously, had to be "done" whilst having a section with my last two (twins) so i didnt have any more - just patiently waiting for grandchildren now!!

3) I have 7 gse grades 2 olevels three rsa awards and a billion certificates for health and safety and all that jazz - well maybe not that many but quite a few!!

4) I have a totally obsessive personality, i have to collect and hoard everything that takes my eye from handbags to yarn - yarn obviously being the largest collection i have, i think there is more yarn in the wardrobe than there is clothes - no really!!

5) I have two kittys and one tiny little chinese crested pooch called honey who has the attitude of a doberman, and one of my kittys is totally insane, he drags my knitting around with him if i dont put it away and either we have ghost mice or he just loves to chase nothing up and down all the four flights of stairs in our house!!

There that wasnt too bad, now who am i going to tag?????

Forgot to say .................

Have just treated myself to the Knitting without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmerman after reading great things about her, and seeing so many finished seamless hybrid sweaters, i am inspired to knit one for dh, so im afraid that im going to deviate from the stash busting a little - hehe- and have to find some scruptious yarn to make it with - beg cheesy grin -

Ahhh my little darlings - or monsters depending on the day im having!! Made these two sweaters for them in a very short time from beautiful natural and chocolate bfl, got the pattern from bernat - a freebie - i had just finished sewing these up when i took these pics, you can still see bits of the yarn on the floor, when im sewing up the boys like to take the left over yarn and make hair out of it!!! Since taking this have made another one for my nephew - pics to follow - and finished a tank top for finley yesterday, start on shays one today, pics to follow.

Dh has two days off which is going to be bliss as he has worked solid for ten days, been a long ten days so looking forward to doing a bit more than twin stuff for a couple of days lol.

Gemma tagged me so im off to think about the five facts about me!!

Stash busting

Have decided to go cold turkey on buying yarn for several months have at least enough to last me most of this year, so will only be working from what i have!
Am currently making two tone bfl hooded sweaters for the twins and then want to make a wooly hat its mighty cold here!
Also must make some cosy throws to snuggle up in before next winter arrives cos this house is so cold and draughty and the baby blankets are not nearly big enough!!

What a busy christmas!!

After making the alpaca shorties, i made some marine fish longies and have a jumper to go with them just have to find time to embellish it, and also made some hippy chic longies with wool beautifully dyed by Gemma - the stash junkie -
